The Middlesex County Cross Country Championship began in 1960. In 1986 Middlesex County high schools separated from previous affiliations and formed what is now known as the GMC (Greater Middlesex Conference). This conference was formed to encompass the majority of schools in the county for most sports.
Within the conference, separate divisions were created grouping schools of similar size. The Red Division are schools that are classified as Group 4 schools. The White Division are a mix of small Group 4’s and Group 3 schools. The Blue Division is comprised of Group 2 and Group 1 schools.
For cross country, dual meets run from early September through the first week in November. This currently decides the division championships, The third or fourth Saturday in October decides the county championship.
This website currently shows the following:
A picture of the school’s home course
A description of that course below it
Link to the schools Athletic Website page.
Link to a list of the school’s top finisher in the county race, and the state sectional race for each year that data was currently available for.
If you have data or additional information about your course or school please send it to nbtsports@yahoo.com so that we can improve the site and preserve cross country history in Middlesex County.
As research time permits I will try to add more history to the school lists. If you have any data in electronic format I can put it on the site that much sooner. Thanks and enjoy what’s here.
